I HATE this call stipend stuff... I have finally gone through my call and found out that several of my calls were missed and you can never figure out what has been paid out and what wasn't as there is not enough clarity on the paystubs... I have talked to other residents who have said they have never even gotten a call stipend they assumed it was in their paychecks but when i looked over it with them it there was no call stipend added. Just a rant I guess, hopefully as time goes on it will figure itself out.

Hi Holly, I stopped checking the blog because it wasn't really being used so I apologize about the delayed response. I think there have been improvements in the call stipend payout since you wrote your message. Currently, the payouts are done on a regular schedule so it is slightly easier to keep track of what call you are being paid for. There have most certainly been errors made with missed call payments, especially early on, which is why I had sent out emails about keeping track yourself. We always wanted to implement a system to identify on your paystub what call shift you are being paid for but apparently this is not feasible. On the topic of call payouts, I would also like to mention that the WRHA occasionally will not pay a resident beyond 7 in house calls or 10 home calls in a month. Apparently, the thought is that this violates the contract when, in fact, it does not. There are exceptions to the call limitations. Anyway, the bottom line is that residents should be paid for whatever work they do, so if you have been underpaid please let our office know so we can sort this out...
