Locations

The two main teaching hospitals in Winnipeg are Health Sciences Centre (http://www.hsc.mb.ca) and St. Boniface Hospital (http://www.sbgh.mb.ca).

Residents often work out of the other peripheral hospitals in Winnipeg:

Seven Oaks General Hospital (http://www.sogh.winnipeg.mb.ca)

Grace General Hospital (http://www.gracehospital.ca)

Concordia Hospital (http://www.concordiahospital.mb.ca)

Misericordia Health Centre (http://www.misericordia.mb.ca)

Victoria General Hospital (http://www.vgh.mb.ca).

Urban family medicine residents are based out of two main sites in Winnipeg:

Kildonan Medical Centre (affiliated with Seven Oaks General Hospital) and the Family Medical Centre (affiliated with St. Boniface General Hospital),

Rural family medicine residents are based out of the Dauphin Regional Health Centre.

There are rural rotations for many programs, taking residents to such places as Brandon, Dauphin, Selkirk, Morden & Winkler.

Parking

Both teaching hospitals (Health Sciences Centre and St. Boniface) have parking services. There is often a waiting list to get a pass for either site. PARIM has an agreement with parking services such that residents get priority when applying for a parking pass. In addition, residents can request to have a parking pass that works at both HSC and St. Boniface for no extra cost. The general monthly cost for a parking pass is around $80.
Residents doing rotations at other sites that require payment for parking may have to pay out of their own pocket. Ask your rotation co-ordinator before paying for parking.
