Physician Counselling Service
-Free confidential consultation and treatment for students and residents experiencing emotional stress by Dr. Prober or Dr. Perlov, from the Department of Psychiatry. Service is available to students of the Faculty of Medicine, their spouses and immediate family. Located in A120 Chown – Bannatyne campus. Phone: 789-3328 for initial appointment.
-Physicians at Risk (PAR) is a peer assistance program, wholly funded by Doctors Manitoba, that helps physicians and their families experiencing difficulties in their private and professional lives. If you have problems with social, marital, financial, behavioural, or chemical dependency issues, help is available from PAR resource people on a totally confidential basis. To speak with a male or female colleague, leave a message with the 24-hour telephone answering service at 237-8320.
