Dr. Ekaksh Khurana, PGY 1 Internal Medicine
My name is Ekaksh, and I am a PGY-1 in Internal Medicine. I am originally from Calgary, Alberta where I completed both my undergraduate and medical degree. I am running for the position of PARIM Treasurer because I believe that responsible financial management directly benefits the lives of residents.
As Treasurer, I would ensure that PARIM’s budget reflects our priorities; lobbying for fair resident contracts, financing wellness initiatives, and perhaps most importantly, maintaining transparency in all financial decisions made on your behalf. This role requires judicious oversight of finances, along with collaboration with external parties including payroll, auditors, and investment advisors. I am committed to ensuring that the financial decisions we make align with residents’ best interests, while keeping members informed about how our funds are managed.
If elected, I will focus on keeping financial accountability, streamlining our budget planning, and increasing transparency on financial processes that directly impact all of us. I want to ensure that every spent serves our collective needs, whether it be education, wellness, or advocacy efforts.
