2025-26 Primary Care Grouping Board Candidates

Dr. Juan Mohadeb, PGY 4 Emergency Medicine

My name is Juan Mohadeb, and I am currently a fourth-year Emergency Medicine resident in the Royal College program. I would be honoured to be chosen as the Primary Care Resident Representative for the PARIM Board of Directors. During medical school, I had the privilege of serving as the Communications Representative on the Manitoba Medical Students’ Association (MMSA) for two consecutive years. This experience deepened my understanding of the importance of strong communication and student advocacy within our medical community.
Now, as a resident working in a primary care setting, I have seen firsthand the immense challenges facing our healthcare system. Many patients are unable to access primary care, placing additional strain on emergency departments and family medicine clinics alike, leading to widespread burnout among healthcare workers. As residents we are currently facing the brunt of this as a large part of the system rests on our shoulders. These experiences have underscored for me the urgent need for systems-level change and the importance of elevating the voices of learners.
I am running for the Board because I want to advocate for hardworking residents—ensuring their concerns are heard, their well-being prioritized, and their education supported. I believe that collaborative leadership and fresh perspectives are key to navigating the evolving landscape of
medicine, and I hope to bring both to the table.
