Resident Post-Call Transportation Program

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, there will be a delay in processing payments. However, you will still be reimbursed if you fill out a form. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

PGME and PARIM are pleased to offer the Post-Call Transportation Program. This program aims to support the well-being of residents by reimbursing their transportation expenses to return home when they are too tired to safely drive after a call shift. The costs eligible for reimbursement also include travel back to the clinical site to retrieve their vehicle after they have had an adequate opportunity to rest.

PGME’s Resident Safety Policy, Article states that: “Post call, if a Resident is too tired to safely operate a motor vehicle, he/she is advised to refrain from travel, by utilizing a call room until rested or take a taxi home.”

How to Apply for Reimbursement

Complete the form below and remit to the PARIM office along with all receipts. You will be reimbursed by cheque within a few weeks.

Please note:

  • Reimbursements are for transportation after call shifts (hospital or converted). Float and emergency shifts are not eligible.
  • Forms must be submitted within 6 months of the date on the last receipt, and before the end of the academic year (June 30).
  • Two-way fare reimbursement is for clinical site –home-clinical site only.

Please note that all claims are subject to approval. Ensure that you have complied with the program rules as outlined above, and that all receipts are included and legible. Cheques will be mailed to the address provided within a few weeks.
