Dr. Matthew Lynn, PGY 1 Diagnostic Radiology
Hello everyone! My name is Matthew (AKA Matt), and as a new Manitoban and diagnostic radiology resident, I’m incredibly excited to train and serve alongside all of you.
I was born and raised in the Toronto area before moving to Vancouver to complete medical school at UBC. Along the way, I lived and worked in rural and urban centers across Canada and the United States, giving me insight into how different jurisdictions approach healthcare training.
Through those experiences, I saw many excellent initiatives supporting trainees through education resources, work flexibility, fair compensation, renewed common spaces, and adhered safety protocols, but also policies where there was clearly room for improvement. No training program was perfect, but meaningful change only happened because people were willing to advocate for it.
Having served on organizational boards in the past, I have always approached with a collaborative mindset, recognizing that the best decisions come from those with the most relevant experience and expertise. Whether you be a new or lifelong Manitoban, I am eager to discuss the needs of diagnostic residents and work towards solidifying shared priorities we can
all rally behind in negotiations. Please don’t be a stranger, my inbox is always open!
