Dr. Jacqueline Donner, PGY 4 Public Health & Preventive Medicine
Dear PARIM members and fellow residents,
It is my privilege to humbly put my name forward to be your next PARIM President.
Over the past year, I have felt very fortunate to work alongside Dr. Wightman and the other dedicated and capable members of our board. Serving as Vice President has been an invaluable learning experience, and it has better prepared me to step into the role of President with a renewed perspective and a deeper appreciation for the work PARIM does on behalf of residents.
This past year, we heard from you about the importance of workplace safety, successfully settled multiple grievances, and continued to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders. Most importantly, we ratified a historic new collective agreement that marks a meaningful step
forward for resident compensation and flexibility across the province. With negotiations and ratification behind us, I am now looking forward.
I look forward to creating more opportunities to amplify the resident voice and to represent our shared experiences and evolving needs at both the academic and provincial levels. As both a Public Health and Preventive Medicine resident and a part-time practicing family physician, I believe I bring a unique and valuable perspective to this role. I continue to experience the challenges, constraints, and joys of residency firsthand, while also understanding how resident physicians fit within the larger healthcare system. This duality allows me to advocate for residents more thoughtfully and strategically.
Regardless of the outcome of this election, it has truly been my pleasure to serve as your Vice President. I am proud to be a resident physician in Manitoba and proud to work alongside all of you.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline Donner
