Treasurer-Elect 2026-27 Candidates

Dr. Ekaksh Khurana, PGY 2 Internal Medicine

My name is Ekaksh, and I am currently a PGY-2 in Internal Medicine here in Winnipeg. Over this past year, I have had the privilege of serving as Treasurer for PARIM. During my tenure, I have had the primary focus of ensuring strong financial stewardship and sustainability for our organization while ensuring PARIM can continue its advocacy work on behalf of residents.

This year in particular has been particularly impactful. We successfully negotiated a comprehensive new Collective Agreement for residents. This includes significantly improved compensation and broader benefits for residents, bringing it in line with, and in some areas surpassing, those of other provinces across the country. As Treasurer, I worked closely with other Executive members and staff to ensure our financial planning supported these initiatives while safeguarding the organization’s financial stability and benefits we currently possess.

With careful budgeting and financial oversight, PARIM is also on track to achieve a significant surplus this year. This puts us in a strong position moving forward and will allow us to expand the benefits, supports, and services available to residents in the coming year.

If re-elected as PARIM Treasurer, my goals would be to continue strengthening PARIM’s financial position, maintain transparent and responsible management of member funds, and ensure that our resources are used appropriately to enhance the wellbeing and professional development of residents across Manitoba.

It has been an honour to serve all of you this year, and I would be grateful for the opportunity to continue this work.

Dr. Noah Neubarth, PGY 1 Internal Medicine

My name is Noah Neubarth, and I am a first-year Internal Medicine resident originally from Montreal, now proud to be training in Winnipeg. I completed my M.D. at the University of Montreal and previously earned a B.Sc. with Honours in Anatomy and Cell Biology from McGill University. Training in both French and English academic environments has shaped how I work, valuing transparency, collaboration, and clear communication across diverse groups.

Throughout medical school and residency, I have taken on leadership roles that required financial oversight and organizational responsibility. As Co-President and founder of a student social organization, I helped secure not-for-profit status and managed budgeting for large-scale networking and community events. As Commissioner of a recreational basketball league, I oversaw scheduling and finances for multiple teams, ensuring accountability and smooth operations. I have also been fortunate to receive competitive grants supporting leadership and research initiatives, experiences that strengthened my commitment to responsible financial management. Being a resident myself also means approaching this role with a strong sense of teamwork and responsibility to the colleagues I train alongside.

If elected Treasurer of PARIM, my goal is to develop a clear and sustainable budget while maintaining transparent financial reporting that residents can trust. I am committed to open communication, thoughtful planning, and responsible management of PARIM’s funds to support resident education, wellness initiatives, and advocacy. I would be honoured to contribute to PARIM’s executive team and work alongside my fellow residents to ensure PARIM continues to serve and represent our community meaningfully.
